The work in each of the three Branches over which I

exercise supervision has during my time increased greatly,

and it seems unnecessary to shew this by figures.

I have been in receipt of the maximum pay of my

present post for five years and nine months at this date.

It may be that in such connectione as Tanjong Pagar

Docks, Singapore, or in other commercial ways a suitable

vacancy may be now, or in the early future, at the dis-

posal of the Government.

I venture to hope, that, taking the circumstances of

my case together with my length of service it may be found

possible to improve my position.
